About
Juliana Gabriel is an illustrator, designer, and fine artist residing in the Chicago suburbs. She comes from a family of artists, who inspired her to draw from an early age. She has worked in and shown artwork in many art forms - including painting, wearable art, and printmaking (Jackson Junge, Gallery 30 South, Artsesan Gallery, Water Street Studios). This lead her to teach fashion illustration as well as other mediums at Water Street Studios.
Juliana graduated with a B.A. from Columbia College Chicago where she found a passion for video art and installations. Her art is inspired by a wide range of artists including photographers (Nadia Lee Cohen, Gregory Crewdson), Nightlife entertainers (Susanne Bartsch, Amanda Lepore, Leigh Bowery), directors (Micheal Powell, Peter Greenaway), designers like (Marc Jacobs, Alexander McQueen, John Galliano) and other artists (Andy Warhol, Kerry James Marshall, Barbara Krueger, Ed Ruschca).
